The UNCOMMON Origin Story: A Revolution Rooted in Reality
I didn’t set out to build a revolution. I set out to survive one.
For over 30 years, I lived the life of an educator—from the inside out. I was a teacher, a school leader, a turnaround principal called in when things were already falling apart. I learned how to build cultures that healed instead of harmed. I mastered the art of balancing high expectations with deep empathy. I didn’t just “run schools”…I rebuilt them, brick by broken brick.
But the truth? I nearly burned out doing it.
I witnessed firsthand how our systems reward sacrifice over sustainability. How leadership gets tangled in red tape and checklists, while the human part of education quietly gets buried. I knew something had to change…not just for me, but for every passionate, exhausted, brilliant educator out there asking themselves, “Can I keep doing this?”
That question? It lit the fuse.
The UNCOMMON Educator was born not from theory, but from trenches. From chalk-dusted classrooms, too-late nights, district mandates, and the unshakable belief that we can lead differently—and live better.
This isn’t just another platform. It’s a movement.
The UNCOMMON Educator exists to empower educators and school leaders to transform their impact…without sacrificing their soul, sanity, or Saturday mornings. Through bold coaching, aligned tools, real-talk courses, and a community that actually gets it, we’re rewriting what it means to lead in education today.
We’re not doing hustle culture. We’re doing heart-led systems.
We’re not grinding till burnout. We’re growing with boundaries.
And we’re not playing small. We’re showing up UNCOMMON—on purpose.
So, if you’re here to rise, to shift, to shake the foundation and rebuild something that actually works…you’re in the right place.
Because this isn’t about checking boxes.
This is about rewriting the damn playbook.
Welcome to UNCOMMON…Built for Educators Who Do Hard Better!
